Lent 5

Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Ezekiel 37:1-14
The hand of the LORD came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. And He said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live?"
So I answered, "O Lord GOD, You know."
Again He said to me, "Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, "O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: "Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the LORD.""'
So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.
Also He said to me, "Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, "Thus says the Lord GOD: "Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.""' So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.
Then He said to me, "Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, "Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!' Therefore prophesy and say to them, "Thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken it and performed it," says the LORD."'

Um, yeah it has been a while.

I really need to keep this stuff up more. As Adrienne mentioned in a comment, I'm not working twelves anymore. I have been really tired the last couple of days. I think I'm trying to get sick. I'm so physically exhausted and have been kinda short of breath the last couple of days. I guess I'm getting that crud that's been going on. My illnesses are so wierd. Either I'm the only that gets it or I'm at the "tail end" of the cycle.

One more week of confirmation class. Last night I went over to do a catch-up class from when my car broke down. The a week off and then Easter! Yay! Afterward, I went the BJ (he had some catching up to do as well) to look for him a new suit. I was his fashion consultant and never really shopped for a suit for a guy before and it was so much fun! Matching shirts and ties and shoes. He's going to look sharp on the 27th.

I had another guy hit on me this week. This one was a driver that had come in to pick up a load. He gave me a compliment and I smiled and said thank you but he kept on. Asking me for my digits and telling me that I could have his. I told him I wasn't interested, but the dood wouldn't leave well enough alone. I ended up having to walk to the back so he couldn't see me and would leave. I went back out to the front and one of the loaders that had been looking outside said he was coming back. I scrambled back to the back again so he wouldn't stay. When I left about an hour and half later, I heard him calling out after me from his truck. *Sigh* Boys.

4th Sunday in Lent

Gracious Father, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ came down from heaven to be the true bread which gives life to the world: Evermore give us this bread, that he may live in us, and we in him; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures and leads me beside still waters. He revives my soul and guides me along right pathways for his Name's sake. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You spread a table before me in the presence of those who trouble me; you have anointed my head with oil, and my cup is running over. Surely your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Eph 5:14b
Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.
Arise. Come out of the tomb of sin and death and darkness to step into the light that is Christ and walk in it. For you once were dead but have been made alive in Him.

No, I _do_ have some things to say

1) After being on 12s for the last month, I get to go back to my regular shift next week. Finally I get my life back
2) I don't feel sorry for Jon. (no offense man)
3) I think I have been dubbed "the Chicken Lady" Since I can get 20 lbs of chicken for a little more than a dollar a pound, I delivered 4 boxes this morning. JATB, it just occurred to me that y'all might want to get in on this too once yall move in. Get with Adrienne or Ashley or post a comment and I'll email you my digits.
4) This morning I got to wake up 2 very special little boys. Jackson, whom I've babysat since he was about 6 months old and is now _six_ (I can't believe it. Joshua is 6 as well. Blows my mind and breaks my heart). And then big brother SPB, who because of his Aunt Kristen _loves_ Icees. Adrienne says he's talking a whole bunch and even said my name a few times today, prompted and unprompted. :)
5) I'm _starving_ Going to go find something to eat before I head to bed for a few hours.
6) I got to go into work late Wednesday, so I went to choir practice and then did evensong. It was a beautiful service, even though Fr. Powell did a little experimenting with beginning pitches. We had some snacks afterward and a few of us stayed even later to work on some stuff for this Sunday. We're singing lots of hymns familiar to me (King of Love my Shepherd Is to to tune of How Sweet and Awful, O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing, Amazing Grace, and one more that I can't remember). Rick went all "Baptisty" on us this week.
7) Just a few more weeks until Easter. I was having doubts (I guess you could call them) on when I was baptized or if I even was. Legend goes that I was baptized the same day I was confirmed in the Methodist church @ age 12 (since my family were Baptists when I was born). I called them (the UM church) up the other day and they checked for me. I'm good to go. :)

Have a good weekend everybody. I sure will.
